Photo TimerControls the swipe-up timed photo. The normal shutter and double-tap always take an immediate photo; with Timer Off, swipe up uses a quick 3-second countdown.

Photo Aspect · Pro GuideIcon keeps the full sensor underneath whenever possible, then gives you a true composition view plus a recommendation for what each shape does best. MAX SENSOR AREA · RECOMMENDED • Best for everyday photos and editing. Pro tip: when unsure, shoot 4:3 and crop later.

Photo Finish · Quality EngineScene-aware tone curve + restrained microcontrast at full saved resolution. No beauty filter, no fake HDR, and no crop beyond your chosen aspect.

Keep Original MasterWhen Icon Natural is used, retain the untouched pre-finish JPEG with the photo so you can download the original later. Uses additional storage.

Photo Detail CaptureAuto tries the browser's photographic still pipeline first for maximum source detail, then falls back safely to the proven live-preview frame path.

Handheld Night ModeOff uses normal single-photo capture. Handheld Night uses a short multi-frame stack for ordinary low-light scenes without pretending the browser has a native long shutter. Uses full-sensor 4:3, motion rejection, alignment, conservative stacking, and highlight protection. Astro Moon / Stars remain separate capture systems.

Astro Capture · Moon + StarsOff • normal Photo capture. Auto Astro can classify a dark sky as Moon or Stars, while manual Moon / Stars / Star Trails modes give you direct control. Astro uses full-sensor 4:3, strict stability checks, and only camera controls this browser actually exposes. Location is optional. Sky Guide calculations run on this device; coordinates are session-only and are never added to Diagnostics.

Astro Stack StrengthMore frames can reduce noise or improve Moon frame selection, but take longer and use more processing.

Star Trail DurationIcon samples the sky over time and keeps the brightest moving star paths. A tripod is strongly recommended.

Keep Astro Source FramesAdvanced • also stores the individual source JPEGs used for the Astro result. This can use a lot of storage and memory, so it is off by default.

Camera LensIcon will map browser-exposed camera hardware after permission is granted. Automatic scan runs whenever the camera starts. Deep Scan is only needed on a new device/browser, after a major OS/browser update, or when a lens appears to be missing. The scan stays on this device; persistent camera IDs are never included in Diagnostics.

Add Frame to Icon Library stores the extracted frame inside Icon's private on-device library so you can reopen or export it later. Save Frame to Device and Save Video to Device create device-compatible exports for Photos, Files, messaging, and sharing. Icon keeps the untouched source recording in its private Library. Frame exports use the decoded source video frame, not a screenshot of the player UI.
